If you are a marijuana user or even a casual marijuana user, then there is a good chance that you have probably asked yourself “is marijuana use illegal?” If so, then your first thought was probably to run a drug test on yourself or a loved one. Even though marijuana use and addiction has been proven to be less harmful than other hard drugs, some states still have regulations against its use. Therefore, before deciding to begin using or indulging in marijuana, you may want to make sure that you are breaking any laws by doing so.

There are different types of tests – that are being done to prove whether or not a person is violating any laws or not. One type is done through saliva testing, which is commonly referred to as the spit test. This testing will determine if marijuana is in fact being used by a person. However, you must understand that not every person can pass this drug screening. This type of drug testing will only be able to detect recent usage and cannot determine how often the user uses marijuana.

A lot of these drug screenings and tests will focus on urine drug testing – Most drug tests require the individual to spit into a bottle which then sends out a sample of the person’s urine. Marijuana and even cocaine will both have a high percentage of urination when used regularly. If you are using marijuana on a regular basis then you most likely will have frequent urination which is a good sign that the drug is being used by the person. However, if you do not have frequent urination then it may be harder to determine how often the user is using the drug.

A blood test will also be done in order to determine – if the person is breaking any laws by using marijuana. Most drug tests will require the individual to draw a small amount of blood from a vein to see if he or she has blood levels that are above normal. However, it is important to understand that these blood tests are not 100 percent accurate. Many factors can affect the results of the tests so it is extremely important to find out if you have been tested by a reputable laboratory.

Many people mistakenly think – that if they smoke a joint or a small amount of marijuana that it will not make them get a drug test. However, studies have shown that the effects of marijuana and even hemp cigarettes can still cause the body to react negatively. Even if you are not using marijuana, if you are doing other drugs or if you consume large amounts of alcohol on a regular basis then you should still consider testing for marijuana. Many police departments have stated that marijuana and other drugs are becoming more widespread and that they are becoming an increasing problem.

Even though there are many types of drug – testing kits available for urine, blood, and saliva testing there are some steps you can take to ensure that you get a positive drug test. Always remember that if you are ever stopped and questioned regarding a drug test you should be completely honest with the police officer.

If you are caught lying to a police officer then you may even face more serious charges including marijuana and other drug charges.
