It has been found that cannabidiol (CBD) oil can be extracted from the cannabis plant. This oil extract is believed to have some powerful medicinal properties. Research is underway to extract this special oil from the cannabis plant. Some of these medicinal properties are to treat chronic pain, to treat nausea and chemotherapy patients. Researchers are currently trying to isolate and reproduce these CBD properties in laboratory animals to understand if they have potential for human use.

How much CBD oil from one plant will affect – the amount of THC or tetrahydrocannabinol in your cannabis? The amount of THC and CBD varies from one variety of the cannabis plant to another. The amount of THCA in one variety of cannabis is a lot less than the amount of THC. Therefore the question becomes “how much CBD oil from one plant will affect my body chemistry and my tolerance level of THC?”

Most growers will grow cannabis plants to produce – a controlled amount of THC which is known as “elta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol”. They do this by cross-pollinating other plants with high THC levels. Some plants are “hybrid” and can contain high levels of THC and low levels of CBD. These hybrid plants are better tolerated by some users and have more “head rush” like effects. Many people have described the feeling like “high”, some describe it as a “come down” effect.

Extractors are used to extract CBD from the plants – It can be extracted from the tops of the leaves and stems. It is extracted through a process called hydroponic extraction. There are two types of hydroponic extractors submersible and solvent extraction. The solvents are slower acting and are used to extract the larger amount of CBD.

When learning – how much CBD you should use, you must also know the strength of the CBD extractor you will use. The strength of the extractor depends on how much of the cannabis plant is needed. It also depends on how much of the cannabis is available for consumption. A one-gallon extractor will hold about five ounces of cannabis. It may take several months to process one pound of cannabis into CBD extract.

If you want to learn – more about using CBD oil for medicinal purposes, you may wish to visit your local library and check out a book on the subject. I have seen this information before in other reference materials and it did not make sense to me.

I later found that there are many good books on the internet that are very informative and explain all of the details in easy to understand terms.
